In this debut novel, Grounded, the author transports the reader back to the 1940’s where the world is in the midst of war. The engaging story follows the Kennard family through life’s adversities where they discover God’s love and faithfulness all along the way. Woven throughout are biblical truths for dealing with difficult life situations. Corah Dann delivers warm unforgettable characters whose personalities come to life on the page. You witness their strengths, their flaws and their struggles with doubt, hope and faith. After reading Grounded, you’ll be left wanting more.

The vivid storytelling of Grounded brings characters to life. I felt immersed into the story of Jessie Kennard and her family. The backdrop of war and the reality of life and its hardships are explored through Corah Dann’s writing. This book feels like a labor of love that I am invited to witness through these characters and their stories. I absolutely cannot wait to continue with “The Heart at Home” series as I enjoyed the world building, intrigued by the characters, and the historical accounts are accurate and thoroughly researched. If you read Grounded for the relationships, you will not be disappointed. Corah Dann has captured the complexity of relationships in such a beautiful, honest way that it keeps you hooked.
